What is the Purpose of Contact for Christ?
To provide help through contact with local Christians
for those enquiring about the Christian faith, those who have recently made a
commitment or re-commitment to Christ, and those who are looking for help with
their faith or for a local church. Our work covers the whole of the United
Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
How do we do this?
We maintain a register of Christians whose abilities
vary from being able to lead a person to Christ, to handling sensitive issues
such as marriage breakdown, cult involvement and addictions. Two satisfactory
references are required for each applicant before we entrust referrals to them
and these are renewed every 5 years. Where ministers, elders or church leaders
join the Register, at their discretion they may on occasion pass the follow-up
to another suitable person in their church.

Who Uses Us?
This service is ideal for follow-up of all types of
Christian work, including, open-air work, camps, concerts, literature
distribution, and any other outreach, particularly where those contacted may
not live locally. For example,

Message on the Move
(MEMO) regularly refer people to us who would like to be contacted by a
Christian in their area. Luis Palau and
Share
Jesus International have included our details for many years for people
wanting further information at evangelistic events. We never supplant the work
of the local church, but operate when distance makes contact hard or
impossible.
Does It Work?
We ask each person on our register to whom an enquiry
is given to send a report back to us on each referral, so that we know that
contact has been made. These reports range from very disappointing (the initial
interest had vanished) to very positive. Some of these "good Reports" can be
read in the right hand column.
